Working With Program Providers
When arranging library programming with outside providers, you may find the following suggestions useful:
- Be clear about your library’s needs and expectations when talking with presenters.
- Confirm your agreement and program details with the performer in writing.
- Include thorough directions on how to find the program location.
- Ask for additional staff or volunteers during the program to assist with crowd control and guarantee a smooth performance.
- Plan to assist the performer before and after the program unloading equipment, carrying supplies, and working out room arrangements and performance details.
- Provide water and a glass for performers.
- Have payment for the performer arranged ahead of time.
- Send a thank you letter after the program.
