State Library to Support More College of DuPage Teleconferences for Iowa Librarians

Last modified October 16, 2006 08:11 AM

First teleconference is Friday, October 27.

As we have done in the past, the State Library of Iowa has purchased the rights to broadcast the terrific 2007 College of DuPage teleconferences over the ICN.

The Soaring to Excellence theme this year is Library 2.0, with the first one coming up quickly from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, October 27.  It is called "The Best New
Technologies: Keeping Up with the Storm." You may register for it right now in the CE Catalog (http://www.statelibraryofiowa.org/cgi-bin/cecat/).  As the title suggests, it will focus on how we can keep up with the new technologies and how we can use them to our best advantage.

There will be two other sessions in the Soaring to Excellence series:

February 9, 2007 will be "Next Gen Librarianship: Where Do We Go From Here?" April 13, 2007 will be "The Best of the Web."

The other series, Library Challenges and Opportunities, will include:

"Library Transformation: Making It Happen" on March 23, 2007
"The Relevance of Libraries in a Digital Age" on May 11, 2007

I hope you can join us for any or all of these great teleconferences. Please visit the College of DuPage's teleconference Web site
(http://www.dupagepress.com/COD/index.php?id=183) for more information on the program or each individual session.
