Library Advocates Tell Their Stories to Iowa Legislators

ILA President Barbara Peterson, ILA Governmental Affairs Committee Chair Mike Dargan and State Librarian Mary Wegner

Many Iowa librarians, trustees and friends met with their legislators in Des Moines on March 11 to convey their concerns about library funding and to thank them for their past and future support.  The Iowa Library Association's Legislative Day is one of the important ways librarians can tell their stories about the impact their libraries have in economic development, education and life long learning in their communities.  Click on Iowa Legislative Day 2008, top left, to see more pictures from the reception at the Law Library, State Capitol.
