History of ABLE in Iowa
The ABLE partnerships began between the Colorado Association of Libraries and the Bulgarian Library Association in 2003. Click here for more information.
A number of Iowa libraries agreed to be a partners in 2004, and the State Library of Iowa agreed to help facilitate. Since that time each of the eight Iowa partner libraries have sent a staff member to Bulgaria and have hosted a Bulgarian librarian at their own libraries. For stories about these trips see the ABLE Newsletters (above).
The Iowan and Bulgarian libraries continue to partner so that they can share ideas and information about their libraries and their countries.
