Driving a vehicle is almost a daily occurrence for many Iowans.  Whether you are a new driver of have been behind the wheel for many years it is important to keep up with any changes that may affect your safety on the road.  The publications provided by the State of Iowa will let you know about the basic rules of the road and any new developments that effect safety like texting while driving and if there will be more traffic light cameras in the future.

The State Documents Depository Library Program provides a core list of Iowa government publications to be selected by and shipped to participating depository libraries through out the state.  This service guarantees  regional and local access to the most important Iowa government publications.

Hear from the experts how to be prepared for and recover from a disaster in your library. Go to for details of this two day conference, April 19 & 20, held in Cedar Rapids. You’ll learn from interesting speakers and get hands on experience during two full days.

The price is right, only $30 for one day and $50 for two, which includes meals and a “Progressive Reception” Thursday evening where you’ll get a chance to see three of Cedar Rapids’ cultural institutions in the process of recovering from the 2008 flood.
