Iowa artist, Ron McKewon Exhibits His Work During May

Ron McKewon grew up in the Midwest along the banks of the Big Sioux River in Sioux City, Iowa. He is a graduate of the Famous Artist Course (Correspondence) and the Washington School of Fine Art, where he studied illustration, life drawing, sculpting, landscape, and wildlife. His exhibit includes breathtaking works of American Indians, cowboys, wildlife and vivid western landscapes.


He has participated in many national art shows in Iowa, South Dakota and Nebraska. Articles about Ron and his work have appeared in national publications such as Art of the West, Western Horseman, & Artwork International. His paintings and fund raising ornaments hang in many private collections throughout the United States, Germany, England, and France. To see Ron's website click here.


Ron also happens to be the husband of Iowa Library Services staff member, Bonnie McKewon. Bonnie is the library consultant in the Northwest District Office in Sioux City.


Ron's works will be displayed at the Main Library during the month of May, 2012. The Library is located in the Miller Building at the corner of E. 12th St. and Grand Ave. The building is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
