The Bloomfield Library Board seeks an enthusiastic, organized, self-directed, and creative individual to serve as Library Director for the Bloomfield Public Library. This is a 40-hour a week position which includes evening and weekend work as needed.
Applicants must have a high school diploma; post-secondary education; library and grant-writing experience is preferred. Applicants must also be able to lift 40 lbs.
The Library Director is part librarian, part community relations manager, and part business manager. Duties and responsibilities include:
- Working closely with the City of Bloomfield, the Davis County Supervisors, and the Library Board to implement and manage the library budget
- Managing and supporting a staff of one full-time and two part-time employees, as well as volunteers
- Managing the daily library operations
- Implementing new technology, as well as maintaining current technology
- Managing and developing library collections
- Managing the development, delivery, and evaluation of library programming
- Overseeing the care and maintenance of the physical facility
- Building positive relationships with local officials, staff, and patrons
