SILO Webmail Switchover

SILO Email will be migrating to a new system on Monday, Sept. 14, 2020. Library staff will need to follow a few easy steps in order to access their SILO email that day.

This will be a hard switchover, so no actions need to be taken until Sept. 14. SILO email will be down from 6:00 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13 until 8:00 a.m. Monday, Sept. 14. Messages will continue to be delivered to inboxes during this time, but librarians will not be able to send or read new messages until the system comes back up on Monday morning at 8:00 a.m.

Switchover Resources:

  • Switchover FAQ: Have a question about the switchover or new SILO Webmail? Check out this FAQ page which may have the answer.
  • Switchover Cheat Sheet: Download and print this PDF before switchover day Sept. 14. It contains the information and instructions you will need to complete in order to access your SILO email once the switchover occurs.

All of the emails and folders in librarians' current accounts will be migrated over to the new system. Instructions for accessing the new SILO Webmail via Outlook as well as mobile devices are available on the SILO Electronic Mail webpage.

The new SILO Webmail offers additional features and an updated interface. The service is cloud-based, giving librarians easy access to emails from anywhere with an internet connection.
