Wireless Printing in the Law Library

Wireless printing is now available at the Law Library in the Capitol! 

Register Your Email Address

To use wireless printing, you must first register for a Papercut account. A State Library staff member can assist you. Register an email address to be associated with your account.

Once your email address has been registered, send the PDF document you wish to print as an email attachment to this address:

law.library.printer@iowa.gov

Releasing Print Jobs

The print jobs will be available at the Ricoh Print Release Station located at the Law Library in the Capitol. Use the touch screen on the printer to enter your Papercut User ID and password.

You may decide which (if any) print jobs you wish to release.  Print jobs will be held in the print queue for 4 hours.  After that time, they are deleted.

Submitting a Print Job via Web

Wireless printing enables users to upload PDF documents to the Papercut Web Release website for printing without submitting jobs via the typical email routine.

1.    From any supported web browser, go to https://print.lib.state.ia.us:9192/user
2.    Enter your Papercut user ID and password.
3.    Click the Submit a job button
4.    Click the Upload from Computer button and browse to where the PDF document is stored.
5.    Click on the Upload & Complete button
6.    To print more documents, click the Submit a job button and repeat the process

From your computer:

Setting up the Google Cloud Print

  1. Open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More   Settings.
  3. At the bottom, click Advanced.
  4. Under "Printing," click Google Cloud Print.
  5. Click Manage Cloud Print devices.
  6. If prompted, sign in with your Google Account.
  7. Select the printers you want to connect, and then click Add printer(s). Choose lawpublic. 

 

Print using Google Cloud Print

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. Open the page, image, or file you want to print.
  3. Click File  Print. Or, use a keyboard shortcut:
    1. Windows & Linux: Ctrl + p
    2. Mac: ⌘ + p
  4. Optional: To choose a printer, click Change.
  5. Change any print settings you want.
  6. When ready, click Print.

From your Android Device:

  1. On your Android device, open the Chrome app .
  2. Open the page, image, or file you want to print.
  3. To the right of the address bar, tap More   Share.
  4. Select Print .
  5. At the top, select a printer [lawpublic].
  6. Change any print settings you want by tapping the Down arrow .
  7. When ready, tap Print .

From your iPad or iPhone:

  1. Print using AirPrint

Print by Device Type:

 

  1. MacOS Device (Laptop)
  2. iOS Device (iPad and iPhone)
  3. Andriod Device (Phone and Tablet)
  4. Chromebook Device (Laptop)
  5. Windows Device 

Print From Your MacOS Device

**Important: Make sure your Apple Mac is connected to the State Library’s Public Wi-Fi (select State-Library-Public from the list of network. Connecting requires acceptance of the State Library’s Internet policies from a web browser) 

Add a printer

  1. Navigate to System Preferences > Printers and Scanners.
  2. Click the  [Plus] icon under the Printers List.
  3. The Add dialog is displayed. This dialog displays a list of all of the discovered printers on the network. Look for lawpublic
  4. Select lawpublic
  5. The Name, Location, and Use is displayed.
  6. Check that Use is set to Secure AirPrint.
  7. If Secure AirPrint is not displayed:
    1. Close the Add dialog.
    2. Disconnect from the network.
    3. Reconnect to the network.
    4. Try again.
  8. Click Add.
  9. Print your document. When prompted enter your PaperCut username and password.

Note: If you enter the wrong authentication details, MacBook devices do not show any warning message; your job will just not print. If your job doesn’t print, check the Print Queue dialog. If the print job is there and has the message Held for authentication, click the [retry] icon; then re-enter your login details.

Device requirements:

Mobility Print supports macOS Yosemite+.

Print From Your iOS Device (iPhone, iPad)

**Important: Make sure your iPhone or iPad is connected the State Library’s Public Wi-Fi (select State-Library-Public from the list of network. Connecting requires acceptance of the State Library’s Internet policies from a web browser)

On iPhones and iPads, Mobility Print just works like AirPrint!

Print your content as described in Use AirPrint to print from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:

  1. Open the app that you want to print from.
  2. To find the print option, tap the app’s share icon —  or  — or tap .
  3. Tap  or Print. If you can’t find the print option, check the app’s User Guide or Help section. Not all apps support AirPrint.
  4. Tap Select Printer and choose the printer lawpublic to print to the law library printer. 
  5. Choose the number of copies or other options, like which pages you want to print.
  6. Tap Print in the upper-right corner.

You will be prompted to enter your registered PaperCut Username and Password.

Device requirements:

Mobility Print supports iOS 9.2+.

Print From Your Android Device

**Important: Make sure your Android is connected the State Library’s Public Wi-Fi (select State-Library-Public from the list of network. Connecting requires acceptance of the State Library’s Internet policies from a web browser)

Install the Mobility Print app from the Google Play Store. https://play.google.com

  1. Launch the app.
  2. Tap Android settings.
  3. Tap Mobility Print.
  4. Tap the enable toggle .
  5. Exit out of Settings.
  6. Use 'print' settings on your screen.
  7. When prompted enter your PaperCut username and password.

Printing is different depending on the app you want to print from. For more information, see the documentation for the app. When you select a printer, make sure you select a Mobility Print printer as identified by the PaperCut icon PaperCut logo

If you select the Remember me checkbox, your phone will remember your login details for that printer for one week.

Device requirements

Mobility Print supports Android 4.4+. Supported devices includes Android phones and tablets from Google, Samsung, HTC, Lenovo, LG, Sony, Huawei among others.

Print From A ChromeBook

**Important: Make sure you are connected to the State Library’s Public Wi-Fi (select State-Library-Public from the list of network. Connecting requires acceptance of the State Library’s Internet policies from a web browser)

  1. Install the Mobility Print Chrome app. Get it from the Chrome webstore, search for Mobility Print.  
  2. Open the page to print.
  3. If printing is available, right-click; then select Print.
  4. Click Change to choose a printer.
  5. Select lawpublic, Mobility Print printer as identified by the PaperCut icon .
  6. When prompted enter your PaperCut Username and Password.


If you select the Remember me checkbox, your device will remember your login details for that printer for one week.

Device requirements:

Mobility Print supports Chrome OS with Chrome version 43+. Supported devices include Chrome Books from Acer, Asus, HP, Lenovo, and Toshiba.

Print from a Windows Device

**Important: Make sure you are connected to the State Library’s Public Wi-Fi (select State-Library-Public from the list of network. Connecting requires acceptance of the State Library’s Internet policies from a web browser)

  1. Download and run this Mobility Print Printer Setup (pc-mobility-print-printer-setup.exe). v.1.0.135
  2. On the License Agreement screen, click Next.
  3. Select a printer [ lawlibrary ]; then click Next. Enter your PaperCut Username and Password; then click Next.
  4. Click Finish.
  5. Print your document.
  6. To add more printers, run the downloaded Windows Printer Setup again.

Note: Mobility Print supports Microsoft Windows 7+.
